Kate is VP of Business & Portfolio Management, Technology's “backbone” and operational process that ensure we function! She is responsible for budget planning and management, talent and engagement, shared technology platforms and a global portfolio spanning over 75 major IT programmes. Since joining Pearson in 2004, Kate has led a number of major IT programmes from which she has extensive knowledge of our technology foundations, our ways of working and our relationships with our customers.
Besides the “day job”, Kate champions Pearson’s diversity agenda with conviction, actively leading the Global Women in Technology employee resource group, and driving diversity initiatives to increase graduate and intern opportunities.
Leah is a Data Science Researcher for Cyber Security at BT. She is currently working on developing machine learning techniques for anomaly detection applied to network security, as well as experimenting with novel visualisation methods for analysis. Since joining BT she has held positions in both network and software engineering and data science teams, and is an advocate for increasing diversity into tech roles.
Alice is a Senior Data Science Manager at Lloyds Banking Group. She has extensive experience in analytical consultancy, project management, data science governance and risk mitigation. In her current role, she oversees the safe delivery and efficiency of data science projects within the group to ensure fair and ethical outcomes are reached for all customers. She has a business analysis background and couples business knowledge and stakeholder management with a strong understanding of data science.
Alice is also a Mental Health advocate, and one of the leading members of the Lloyds Banking Group Women ConnecTech network, through which she co-founded the Coach to Code Programme, which launched in June 2020. When she isn’t working, Alice enjoys practicing yoga and going on diving holidays.
Sarah is William Hill’s Head of Platforms and Infrastructure and is currently leading their modernisation programme after successfully completing the transition to the Public Cloud. Sarah has an impressive record of leading business critical, high profile programme & operational teams. She does this with enthusiasm, pragmatism and excellent stakeholder engagement in (more often than not) challenging circumstances.
Sarah’s has extensive experience as a technology leader delivering first to market Technology solutions, Cloud Solutions, Technology Transformation and Enterprise systems, and her passion and commitment are contagious and inspiring.

I am a Senior Developer working with Royal Mail. My role involves leading and supporting the development of various applications for the parcel-based sevices within Royal Mail Group. I have over 10 years of experience as a Software Developer working in BFSI, Education and Postal sectors. While I am a proficient full stack developer, my expertise is in building interactive, user-centered and responsive front end web and mobile applications.

Rachel Ruston is Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Councils Head of IT Service Operations overseeing many aspects including Service Desk, Deskside, Infrastructure, Networking, Applications, Data Centre, Asset Management and Code Green which is the councils very successful commercial operation delivering services to the Education Sector and SME’s.
Rachel has over 20 years experience in the IT industry and currently looks after x staff. Prior to joining Barnsley Council Rachel was a Manager for Yorkshire Bank where she worked for 17 years.
As a former winner of a Women in Technology award herself has worked hard to raise the profile of Women in Technology within the Council and is passionate about girls finding out about career opportunities available to them and creating pathways for them to grow, develop and shine.
Rachel and the wider IT team have volunteered within the Education sector to ‘spread the word’ about careers in IT and supported students with CV writing and interview techniques training.
Rachel is Founder of a programme named Aspire where the IT Team volunteer to provide opportunities to students from a local special school again with the programme being focussed on creating equal opportunities for all whilst supporting students to be the best they can be.
Toni is a Secondary School Computing Science teacher, the Founder of the multi-award-winning charity
dressCode and Turing'sTesters, and also the Co-founder of the ada.scot festival.
The aim of dressCode is to help close the gender gap in Computing Science. dressCode have also launched
Computing Science Scotland, a national initiative with the aim to help support Computing Science teachers and
inspire as many pupils as possible to continue to study Computing Science.

Anna Somaiya is KPMG’s Director of IT Transformation and the Founder and Leader of IT’s Her Future. Anna Somaiya has over 20 years’ experience in technology. Prior to joining KPMG Anna was Head of European IT governance and strategy for Honda Motor Europe where she was responsible for 28 countries and 450+ staff. Since joining KPMG she has supported many of our clients in their technology transformation journey. She is currently leading the transformation of KPMG technology and IT services.
IT’s Her Future was founded in 2015 as a response to a lack of diversity within KPMG’s technology department. It is now a firm wide programme to articulate, implement and embed the step change required by KPMG in attracting, recruiting, promoting and retaining women in Technology. Her hard work has seen the female headcount raise from 26% female to 42% female between 2015 and 2020. We have taken our best practises to our clients including the mentoring framework.
The award-winning mentoring scheme has seen 1 in 5 mentees enter a new role in 2020. Anna is passionate about getting girls excited about technology to ensure no opportunity is closed for the future generation, to ensure it truly is IT’s Our Future.
Sophia has a unique insight into the Technology ecosystem. She has a first class Honours degree in Business Studies and Technology, combined with being a Chartered Management Accountant. Having worked her way up to Partner at Deloitte and having held a number of line positions in large Financial Services organisations she is able to view Technology challenges from a number of angles to ensure value is maximised, within appropriate operational risk thresholds. Throughout her career she has supported diversity, including leading the Parenting Programme at Deloitte; Trialling Compressed working weeks and mentoring individuals to be the best they can . Currently she leads HSBC’s Europe Cost Transformation Programme, where Technology is the largest and most complex element of the 2 year transfromation.
